VIRGINIA HURRICANES 10U TEAM EARNS 6TH PLACE FINISH AT AAU NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GIRLS BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT IN ORLANDO
The Virginia Hurricanes 10U girls team finished in 6th place at the 2010 AAU Division II National Championship Basketball Tournament in Orlando, Florida. Twenty-eight teams from across the country competed in this tournament over 5 days in early August. After advancing to the Sweet 16 and Elite 8 rounds of play, the Hurricanes clinched 6th place with an additional victory. The Hurricanes defeated teams from Georgia, New Hampshire, Arkansas, Kentucky and Virginia Beach. The team is coached by Michael Rivera and includes rising 6th graders from North and South Arlington and Fairfax County.

11U HURRICANES WIN SILVER MEDAL AT POTOMAC VALLEY DQT
Congratulations to the 11U Hurricanes for capturing the Silver Medal at the 2011 Potomac Valley AAU 11U Division II District Qualifying Tournament! The Hurricanes earned the right to participate in the 2011 AAU National Championship Tournament in July in Kingsport, Tennessee.
9U and 10U Hurricanes Finish 1st and 2nd at the AAU Holiday Tournament
Congratulations to the 9U and 10U Hurricanes for their outstanding performances at the recent AAU Holiday tournament hosted by the Maryland Flames on January 3-4. The 9U team won 3 games in the Division 1 bracket before losing a close game in the Championship. The 10U team won all 3 of their games enroute to capturing the Championship. Well done Lil ‘Canes!!!
9U and 10U Hurricanes Complete Successful Fall Season!!
Congratulations to the 9U Hurricanes for winning the Championship in the 2009 Fall League run by the Cardinals AAU club.
The 10U Hurricanes also had an outstanding fall league — finishing in second place.

In June 2009, the 9U Hurricanes team competed against the best teams in the country at the 9U AAU National Championship Tournament in Monroe, Louisiana. In just their first season together, and with no player having prior AAU or travel basketball experience, the Hurricanes advanced to the Championship game of the consolation bracket. The trip was a huge success and great fun for all!

The 12U Hurricanes are the 12U Division III AAU National Champions!! In July 2009, the Hurricanes faced strong competition and advanced through the tournament UNDEFEATED and were crowned the Champions of the 12U Division III AAU National Championship Tournament in Hampton, Virginia. Well done Lady ‘Canes!
- The 9U Hurricanes (now 10U) were champions of the 10u “A” Division of the 2009 Fairfax Stars AAU Summer League. In an exciting Championship game on July 30, the Hurricanes defeated the previously unbeaten Loudon Freedom. Congratulations to the “Lil ‘Canes” for a hard fought and well deserved Championship title!
In just their first season together, the Virginia Hurricanes 11U girls AAU basketball team recently returned from an impressive performance at the Division 2 AAU National Championship Tournament in New Haven, CT.
Facing a field of 38 competitive teams from across the U.S. and Canada, the Hurricanes won their first four games before being eliminated with losses to the eventual Tournament Champion (from California) and Tournament Runner-Up (from North Carolina). The Hurricanes finished tied for 9th place.
